Confidentiality & GDPR
Amerron Acres CIC recognises that sensitive and confidential information about clients and staff is held by the company and there are obligations regarding this personal data and the rights for individuals. This includes protection of personal data and the penalties for organisations if this does not happen.

The data we collect is used to meet our client’s needs, for sessions, invoices and emergency contacts. We only collect and store information that is necessary.

Amerron Acres CIC adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and we will not share any information about you with any other individual or organisation unless there is a legal requirement to do so.

EFL practitioners at Amerron Acres CIC are required to have regular clinical supervision with a more senior practitioner as part of their LEAP membership. Client cases may be discussed in supervision but names and any personal details will remain confidential and will not be shared with supervisors.

Limitations to Confidentiality
There are instances when therapists are mandated by law to disclose pertinent information discussed in therapy if the client has an intent or plan to harm another person. We are required to inform the intended victim and notify legal authorities.
Suicide/Self harm: Depression is a common emotion expressed in therapy, but if a client is feeling hopeless enough to imply or disclose a plan for suicide; steps need to be taken to ensure safety.
Vulnerable Adults and Children: Mental health professionals are required by law to report stated or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult to the appropriate social service agencies and/or legal authorities.
Terrorism: I will report any act, or intended act of terrorism.
Animal abuse: I will report animal abuse, including cases of neglect and hoarding.
